NATIONAL PEACE WOMEN'S PEACE WALK :SATURDAY 21ST MAY 2022
The National Council of NGOs and Peace Stakeholders in all the 47 Counties in Kenya are set for National Women's Peace walk 2022 on Saturday 21st May 2022 at National and County levels in the Country.
The National Council of NGOs, the Council, National Chairman Stephen Cheboi, confirmed that the NGO Council Members and all the peace stakeholders who partners for the Peace walk are ready to participate in the Peace walk which will take place simultaneously in all the Counties , on 21st Saturday 2022 as from 8.00 am
Speaking to reporters at the NGO Council offices situated at Nyayo House, Nairobi Stephen Cheboi said that the Peace Walk is set to enlighten the Country on the role of Women's in Peace and PEACEFUL general Elections ahead of 9th August 2022.
“ The NGO Council urge all Peace loving citizens to turn up in large numbers and join the Women of Kenya as they lead the match for Peace and also spread positive messages of having a peaceful Campaigns and Elections.
Chairman of NGO Council Stephen Cheboi stated that with the assistance of all the County Commissioners the events will happen in all Major towns and County headquarters across the Country.
The NGO Council Chairman affirmed that the great moral support from different key stakeholders among them Women for Peace Kenya, Red Cross Society, The ministry of Interior and Coordination National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) UN Women, among many others Peace stakeholders will make the walk a success.
The County Commissioners in every county will flag the Peace Walk and provide security
“The NGO Council reiterated everybody is allowed to participate but we highly encourage women to turn up in large numbers and to be at the forefront and Lead others during the Peace walk.
The NGO Council affirmed that in June they will mobilise the youth, July they will reach out to the elderly and in early August they will mobilise the everyone in the Country to participate in the Peace walk for PEACEFUL Nation with an idea of securing the country against violence in the forthcoming general elections.
Commenting on the leadership situation, Mr. Cheboi urged Kenyans to vote for leaders who will bring development and also drive the government to the right direction.

NGO Council at the same time urged politicians to continue preaching peace among All Kenyans. NGO Council further urge Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to prepare to conduct the elections in a free, fair and incredible manner.
The NGO Council is at the forefront for Peace in Kenya.
